Guatemala Huehuetenango - Los Arroyos
Huehuetenango is a high-altitude, dense, and remote region of Guatemala that has been producing coffee for generations. Felipe Martinez, along with his family, has been doing something extraordinary for the past 75 years, and now we have a chance to try something truly remarkable.
They are cultivating a typica & bourbon varietal that has been ingrained into the family farm. Being able to try a coffee that is grown at 1900 MSL and is considered the oldest varietal, is a rare treat for any eclectic coffee drinker. The high altitude plays a big factor in quality and taste, as these are some of the only varietals suitable to grow in these conditions.
With that being said, this incredibly clean and smooth cup of coffee can transcend any single-origin coffee lover into a new favorite region. The perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, presents flavor notes of honey, apples, and orange peels that will have you drinking multiple cups a day.
